A Memorial Day Cookout at Friendly Park Swim & Tennis

Join us on Monday, May 27, for our annual Memorial Day cookout where we will serve burgers and hot dogs for pool members beginning at 12 p.m. (an hour after we open at 11 a.m.). Festivities go until the food runs out. All members will be given tickets for a burger OR a hot dog when checking in.

If your last name starts with the letters A-M, please bring a potluck dessert to share! If your last name starts with the letters N-Z, please bring a side dish!

Note: If you're hosting guests at the pool, they will be able to purchase meal tickets at the snack bar. There is no rain date for this event. Cross your fingers for sun!

In the Spirit of Memorial Day

While we will celebrate friendships and the arrival of our summer pool season on Monday, we invite you to join us in honoring the many men and women in uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.

We call ourselves the Frogs. As you may know, "Frogmen" was the nickname given to underwater demolition teams created during World War II, the precursors to today's Navy SEALs.

A list of all Navy UDT/SEALs who have laid down their lives can be found on the website of the Navy SEALs Fund – Brotherhood Beyond Battlefield, a veterans-helping-veterans nonprofit organization. Should you be inspired, take a moment on Memorial Day to read through this list. It is a humbling reminder that what we enjoy this holiday weekend is possible because they and countless others across all military branches died to protect our freedoms.
